the dunes of Bibione
(Bibione – San Michele al Tagliamento (VE) – Veneto)

Thanks to our friend Nadia, we take the opportunity of visiting the splendid Bibione beach, stretching on the east of the town up to the mouth of the Tagliamento.
Between the lighthouse and the mouth of the river you can admire the uncontaminated sand dunes, partially covered with the local vegetation.
An area to be enjoyed smoothly by bike.
The uniqueness of this area is the concurrent presence of Mediterranean and Alpine vegetal species, here rooted in different ages and still present.

At the mouth of the Tagliamento, the lighthouse of Bibione, a majestic white building, erected at the beginning of ‘900, which stands out where the river flows into the sea, creating this beautiful natural area, to be absolutely preserved

A short note about Bibione:
Bibione is an island separated from the mainland on the east by the river Tagliamento, on the north by the Lugagnana channel and on the west by the Lovi lagoon.
Bibione, transformed in a seaside resort starting from 1956, is now one of the most important family friendly holiday places.
Bibione deserved for 23 years the Blue Flag (continuously since 1996) awarded by the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE) and first in Europe received the EMAS Environmental Certification.
