Driving along the SS45 from Piacenza to Genova, also the most absent minded person can’t miss the “bumps” of an unusual bridge over the Trebbia river.
But not only the stop to admire the Bump Bridge or Devil Bridge is needed here, you have also to visit the beautiful town of Bobbio.
Bobbio, the small town of the Trebbia valley, dates back to Neolithic and in 4th century b.C. the first Roman hamlet.
Its history identifies itself with that of Saint Columba’s abbey (founded in 614 by the Irish abbot Columba), which had a very important political-religious role and whose estates spread out anywhere in northern Italy.

The old town still conserves the Medieval features that can be discovered walking through its streets.

Tourist destination for its past rich in art and culture, we should not forget that it is also a destination suitable for nature and sport lovers.

To visit, in addition to the Saint Columba’s abbey with its museum, arcade and gardens:

• The old prison and the mill of the monastery
• The nunnery of Gianelline
• The Malaspina Dal Verme Castle, power place from ‘300

The legend (similar to many others) tells that only the devil could reunite what God separated.
