San Pietro castle
(San Pietro in Cerro (PC) - Emilia Romagna)

Maybe one of the most charming castle of the Ducky of Parma (for the list castelli_del_ducato), and, if not the most fascinating, it is the one that allows you to better enjoy the past.

The guided tour leads you through 30 rooms, all of them richly furnished with the original or contemporary fittings.

In addition to these rooms, the visit continues in the attic where toy find the MiM - Museum in Motion with an open collection showing by turns (just in motion) the artistic survey from the postwar period to this day.
It is possible that the following visits could offer different works in exposition.

In the vaults an amazing surprise: 39 copies of the soldiers of the famous “Terracotta Army”, mounting guard to the mausoleum of the Chinese emperor Qin Shi.

A short history:
Designed to be a fortified house, it was built in 1460 on a pre-existent fortress by Bartolomeo Barattieri, noble Juris consult and ambassador of Piacenza to the papal court of Julius II della Rovere.
The castle remained a property of the Barattieri family until 1993 and so retained its original structure.
The present owner not only continues to maintain the existing structure, but he has been able to recover many scattered fittings.
Moreover, being an art lover, in 2001 he opened the MiM.
