the red rocks
(Portovenere (SP) – Liguria)

One of the most suggestive places in Liguria suitable to enjoy a limpid sea and some enchanting villages.

Here the silence is broken only by the splash of the waves, when the sea does not express all its anger and the colours are more vivid and contrasting, but not less charming.

By boat, or scrambling up the paths of a cliff to reach a little creek, a diving in the crystal clear water is the inevitable consequence after the rest on a sunny rock.

But not only sea; who can come here has to visit the almost uncontaminated villages of the Cinque Terre and Portovenere with its Saint Peter church rising sheer on a projection of rock defying the sea.

We remember that from 1997 Portovenere, the Cinque Terre and the islands of Palmaria, Tino e Tinetto are one of the countless UNESCO heritages in Italy which unfortunately are often badly preserved.
