We wish to draw attention to the event "Verdi, the Italian" which for the second year from March to June organizes several cultural shows.
The prestigious "Concorso internazionale Voci Verdiane – Città di Busseto" will close the series of the events.

This year among the first interesting events the opera "La Traviata" at the theatre Giuseppe Verdi in Busseto.
We assisted to the dress rehearsal and we remained pleasantly impressed by the intriguing staging set in the present days.
Generally performed in traditional manner, even in this stage costumes “La Traviata” remains very absorbing and stirring.
Actually Verdi wanted to give to this opera a contemporary setting then forbidden by the censors.
So we could say that the present stage respects Verdi’s point of view.

A few notes:
The opera is a coproduction Teatro Comunale of Bologna and Fondazione Orchestra Haydn of Bolzano and Trento, in collaboration with the Comune of Busseto and the Concorso Internazionale Voci Verdiane "Città di Busseto.
Created for the Festival Verdi 2017, the mise-en-scène is due to the creative team winner of the European Opera-directing Prize.
