Today we go out to the Mato Grosso forest … then, maybe for the high cost, we decided to move a little nearer.

So, through a narrow road leading from Cismon del Grappa to the Feltre region, we discovered (what a pleasant surprise!) a place with the old times charm, even if it is not a rain forest

Notwithstanding the non perfect weather and even if the lake is an artificial one, we were charmed by this old times landscape.
Wedged between the Grappa massif to the south and the Tesino plateau to the north, the wide sheet creates spectacular views.

Certainly the place is not suitable for everyone: only those who love nature and can abandon the car for a pleasant walk can appreciate it.

A particular feature of the area is the Bridge of the Victory and of the Chains, built as a memory of the victory in World War I. It replaced an old footbridge often swept away by the floods of the Cismon stream.

And maybe someone, luckier than us, could meet a roe or a deer.

You can easily reach the lake from the Feltre territory.
For those afraid of driving, coming from the Valsugana, it’s better to take the highway towards Feltre and drive back a little towards the lake.
