Given the muggy heat of these days, it is indispensable to go to places where the natural greenery rules.
One of these places is the quarrels forest that stretches along the banks of the Po River.
What is also surprising are the 'encounters' that can be made while walking in silence.

An explanation:
In the 1940s, the Po was channeled into a new course and some land was reclaimed that had until then been flooded by the river.
According to the law in force at the time, such land freed from water was to be acquired by the frontier farmers.
At the time of the division, during a meeting, heated arguments broke out between the various presenters that ended in 'quarrels'.
Hence the name of the forest.

Two sore points:

• The municipality should be concerned with maintaining the decorum of the area and not neglecting it as shown in photo 33.
• In photo 32 it appears that the tortoises are not the local ones, but the invasive and harmful American tortoise, probable vector of salmonellosis and agent of diseases and parasites for native tortoises and wildlife.
  Considered among the 100 worst invasive species in the world and in Europe, they easily cause extinction of algae, plants and animals it feeds on.
