Remounting the Susa Valley, on the right (or more precisely on the orographic left) it’s worth a diversion the village of Chianocco with its adjacent areas

To lazy or less trained people we suggest to limit the visit to:

• The “casaforte” of Chianocco, a well-preserved fortress dating back to 1280, composed by a group of rustic buildings defended by a tower
• The castle of Chianocco (13th century), also known as “Casaforte Superiore”, that is an embattled residence more than a castle. In one of its wings you could visit the Old Crafts Museum.
• The chapel of St. Hyppolitus, maybe dating back to 11th century but possibly an ancient Roman temple.
• The Church of St. Peter Apostle, dating back to 1000 and destroyed in 1694 by an overflowing of the Prebec stream. The splendid bell tower and the perimeter fence are the only parts left.

In addition to energetic people we suggest to walk along the indicated path toward the “Orrido di Chianocco”, a wonderful gorge eroded by the Prebec stream.
Now it is part of the nature reserve “Riserva Naturale Speciale Orrido e Stazione di Leccio di Chianocco”.
A place to be discovered, worth of respect, attention, curiosity and … suitable shoes because there are some difficult passages.
