To celebrate the 200 anniversary of the foundation of the Società Filarmonica, the Associazione Bandistica “Giuseppe Verdi”, its natural issue, organized the Festival Bandistico “Città di Busseto”.

At that time it was on 12 August 1816 and today, on 17 and 18 September 2016, 15 bands from all over Italy marched along the street and played a concert in front of the monument dedicated to Giuseppe Verdi.

A few comments:

• it would be lovely and interesting if this event could take place every year, increasing its importance and attracting international bands so that Busseto could get, because of its vocation, a more important place for music
• in our opinion it would be better to embellish the stage that today appears too austere so giving the right importance to the event.
