On 6th June we took part in the very interesting meeting presenting the “FESTIVAL DELLE ALPI 2014”, organized by the “Associazione Montagna Italia” to promote our alpine territories.
This year the venture was extended to the whole Alps, which territory mostly belongs to Italy.

Some notes from the press release:
"The festival involves the Alpine places and institutions of the Seven Regions that make up the Italian Alps and choose to join the tourist initiative by organizing events related in various ways to the mountains: hiking, mountain climbing, walking discovering shelters, mountain villages and their people, mountain farming, folklore, mountain culture, but also activities to promote the exploitation of nature, environment and biodiversity.
The aims are threefold: enhancement, tourism promotion and knowledge of the mountains and the culture present in this vast territory. The mountain, prime source of local and organic products, as well as environment rich in landscapes and historical sites, seemed the perfect place to focus on the issues of the EXPO and to give voice and visibility to the wealth of resources that these areas store…."

Maybe we would appreciate a greater attention of the media about this event and we also hope that the same interest could (sooner or later) get to the other our mountains, as the Apennines.

At the end of the meeting we went for a walk in Bergamo, a city which needs no presentation.

A suggestion: visiting Bergamo do not stop to the Città Alta because also Bergamo Bassa deserves all your attention.
