Grazie all’amico Massimo esploriamo le grotte del Caglieron.
Il torrente ha inciso nei secoli una profonda forra nelle rocce calcaree, formando alte cascate, marmitte dei giganti e stalattiti.
Le grotte sono sia naturali, scavate dal torrente, sia parzialmente dovute all’azione dell’uomo per l’estrazione dell’arenaria nel XVI secolo.

Una visita che è quasi un obbligo per chi ama la natura e le sue creazioni.

Una nota:
sul torrente si trova un mulino che risale al XVI secolo, attualmente restaurato e trasformato in esercizio ricettivo che conserva comunque la sua architettura originale.

the Caglieron caves - 1 of 2

Thanks to our friend Massimo, we are exploring the Caglieron Caves.
Over the centuries, the stream has carved a deep gorge into the limestone rocks, forming high waterfalls, giant's kettles, and stalactites.
The caves are partly natural—carved by the stream—and partly the result of human activity involving sandstone extraction in the 16th century.

A visit that is practically a must for anyone who loves nature and its creations.

A mill dating back to the 16th century stands by the stream; it has been restored and converted into a hospitality establishment while retaining its original architecture.
