One afternoon on a magnificent day we went to the shores of Lake Garda, in the town of the same name.

The light mist hovering over the lake and the lights of the winter sun at dusk made magical the colours of the town and the lake.

A bit of history:
Already in the 8th century, at the time of the first barbarian invasions, there was a fortress at Rocca di Garda and a church dedicated to St. Columbanus.
A certificate of King Liutprand in favour of the Abbey of St Columbanus of Bobbio is the first documentary evidence dating back to the first half of the 8th century.
In the Middle Ages it was the administrative centre of the municipalities in the area.
In 1452 the fishing rights on the lake granted by the Serenissima originated the Corporazione degli Antichi Originari.
These rights were respected by Napoleon and later by the Kingdom of Italy.
