A walk in the Apennines, a few steps away from the plain, which is close for the distance but far-off for the anthropization.

Also the road to the mount deserves to be travelled over.
The radical change that you notice driving from the plain to the hills is astonishing: at first gentle hills scattered by farmhouses, old villages and in this case the ruins of a medieval tower looking as its was still keeping watch on the country.
After little by little the civilization vanishes and gives place to the woods until you are struck by the sudden appearance of the stern, wild and unexpected black rocks of the mount Pietra Nera.

A few notes:
The mount Pietra Nera is 2,200 ft high.
It is a holophytic relief, an emerged section of the ocean which originated a black rock standing out in the landscape.
