a stroll in Mazzini park
(Salsomaggiore Terme (PR) – Emilia Romagna)

To enjoy the beauty of nature, it is not always necessary to go into an endless, solitary forest, sometimes it is possible to find, even in the city, a place which allows the body and spirit to breathe in the green of the trees.
In our opinion, the Mazzini Park is the most suitable place to walk in, finding one's inner harmony.

Behind the Berzieri spa it covers 11,000 m².
Various tree species, all labeled, shade the lawns and the Italian-style garden.
A Japanese-style pond is the habitat of ducks and swans.
Just above it there is a kiosk that in 1925 was the setting for 'Madama Butterfly' by the recently deceased Giacomo Puccini.
If you go to Salsomaggiore, whether for work, health, or holiday, we recommend that you spend some of your time in the park.

A bit of history:
It was built in the early 20th century and originally named 'Parco Regina Margherita' .
The park was designed by architect Giuseppe Roda* and inspired by typical Art Nouveau canons.
From the earlier period it retains the typical Italian garden, the pond and many tree essences dating back to the first planting of the park.
A bust of Mazzini is at the centre of the garden area.

*Giuseppe Roda (Racconigi, 30.05.1866 - Turin, 26.01.1951) graduated from the Ecole des Beaux Arts in Paris was mainly active in landscape architecture.
