The village of Salsominore should deserve more attention.
Certainly less popular than Salsomaggiore and immersed in the greenery of a valley, it has a charm of times gone by.
We have already dedicated some images to this place (in 'author photos' select Salsominore), in particular to the ruins of industrial archaeology and the barely visible Farnese salt pans.

A bit of history:
As some finds suggest, the remote origin of the church dates back to the 5th century.
Its history is intertwined with the legends of the lost castle known as the Castle of Barbarossa once located on the hill above the church.
It is in an excellent state of preservation thanks to the care of the Conventual Franciscans and the local population.
It will be a pleasant visit as it still preserves stuccoes, furnishings and paintings.
