Travelling along the provincial road from Parma to Corniglio, one comes to a fork in the road on the left, which climbs up the hills.
As mentioned in the title, you find yourself immersed almost in a time gone by.
Tiny villages with many stone houses.
A church, San Prospero, on a hilltop, dominating the valley, existing since 1230, abandoned and demolished in 1735, rebuilt and consecrated in 1873.
It is not easy to describe the area; it must be visited to fully appreciate it.

Given the inclement weather, we also made a brief visit to the village of Corniglio, which we had already mentioned [see], photos 32- 38.

A bit of history:
The earliest historical evidence dates back to 879 in a document in which Emperor Carloman donated to Viboldo, bishop of Parma, a hamlet called Curatico near the hamlet named Beduzzo.
It was in 1387 that the first feudal investiture took place, when Emperor Wenceslas rewarded the Terzi family for their services.
There was also a castle in this area, now almost completely disappeared.
After alternate events, the county of Corniglio, with Beduzzo, passed to Galeazzo Pallavicino.
In 1521, Count Filippo Maria de' Rossi reacquired Beduzzo.
Filippo Maria was succeeded by Count Camillo.
With Camillo's son, Filippo Maria, the seigniory of the Rossi family ended and the fief was handed over to the Camera Ducale of Parma.
