an open-air museum (part 2 of 2)
(Madoi Sesta Inferiore (PR) - Emilia Romagna)

We end our visit to the museum village, still disappointed to see how the work of the painter who clearly loved the village so much has been neglected.
Photos 5, 6 and 7 show the artist's former home.

On the way back, we stopped to admire other noteworthy sights, in particular:
the hill with the village of Beduzzo (photo 11), the unfortunately dry Canetolo waterfall (photos 13÷14), the hermitage of Quaredi (photos 16÷17), and the Roman bridge over the Parma stream (photos 18÷21), which seems to date back to the 6th century AD.

A bit of history:

Walter Madoi:
born in Collecchio (PR) in 1925.
Known for his frescoes, especially in churches, such as San Rocco, seen in the previous special, the church of San Quintino (PR), and that of Costa d'Abramo (CR).
He also painted the frescoes in a well-known restaurant in Polesine Parmense.

Sesta Inferiore - Madoi:
already known in the 10th century as it is mentioned in a document dated 953 in which Countess Leigarda donated some Corniglio territories to the Bishop of Parma.
